What would you say?

Since yesterday have been having a bitter argument with farmers defending their profitable business which includes the slaughtering and milking of innocent animals just to make a profit. I asked a farmer several questions in regards to what they would answer the animals if they could speak.

(Cow) Why did you take my calf from me, my child?
(Cow) Why did you use me for milk when it was meant for my child?
(Cow) Why did you continuously inseminate me and force me to bear children?
(Pig) Why did you close me in a bin, I could hardly move?
(Pig) Why did you take all my children and slaughter them?
(Pig) When I was spent, why did you slaughter?

The farmer answered, they would have thanked me for the insemination instead of letting a bull do the work, that is the only answer I received…

The farmer then proceeded to ask me what I would answer when the domesticated animals asked me why they are extinct, here is my answer.

My dear friend, I was once a meat and dairy lover. I consumed without thinking, I spit on vegetarians and vegans, my dream was always to become a zoo worker or farmer. One day it was like someone shook me alive, felt like someone asked me what I was doing. I started digging into the business and got to see the truth from birth to death of domesticated animals, for that is what you are. You are all subspecies and have either an ancestor who is extinct, for you dear cow, the aurochs, for you dear pig, your cousin, the wild boar still lives although he is hunted constantly for meat. All domesticated animals were part of a vicious cycle and since birth you were a breathing price tag, your life had one meaning, food for humans, food that humans do not need to survive. Food that was a contributing factor to the planet's environmental problems. At slaughter, they executed you with methods that created fear, pain, and suffering, we saw it in your eyes and what your breeder never saw because they could not attend every slaughter, was that the killing was not 100% lethal, sometimes you had to wait in pain while suffering for that final blow which was your salvation, death. Your lives with the farmers was spread from an attempt to provide a humane treatment to pure torture. You must understand that regardless of how you were treated, you were already dead. You were dead the day you were born. Sweden was a better country because we had the strictest law on Earth, but human beings are not born to follow law. Many do not follow the law and what we could not see, we didn’t know. Your life was not about the survival of man, but of money and politics, man called it a norm, you are animals and this is how it has always been. We tried to find a better life for you but could not for man does not have the capacity nor the will. The only reason you were born on this planet was to die. You did not have a dignified life where you could feel the same feelings as a human was entitled nor could you experience the same things your wild cousins did. You were not a part of nature's food chain, you existed only for man's greed. You should know that man does not treat nature better than you were treated. They kill animals in the wild for resources that are just for luxury, for resources to compensate for your death, luxury food. Humans have even killed man’s best friend the dog for leather and meat. You are not extinct because nature never created you, man created you. When we saw your suffering, the fear, your disappointment, the pain, and the stress, we decided that man did not deserve you. We were not worthy of your existence because we did not manage to respect nor let you live a full- and good life. Most domesticated animals received only enough air to live ¼ of their life, and many times even less. We did not have any more strength to see your children being taken away from their mothers just to become a schnitzel or decoration on the Christmas table, you deserved so much more than that. In the end, we saved you from having to go through a life to be born as a price tag and no animal on earth, including humans, deserve this. You should also know that human beings are not treating their own children better than your children. We continuously create tremendous amount of fear and pain for our own children and if we cannot protect our own children, why do we deserve other animals’ children. There are only bad reasons and excuses that you existed. All animals want to experience their mother at birth for the mother's love for her child is equally strong within all animals, but this was something that we stole from you and for millions of animals across the planet. We lost control, we went insane, we did not understand that we were the creators of fear, pain, and suffering.

Humanity vs. Animals

Let’s talk about Khofo, just another innocent bystander in the ongoing Syrian war. Khofo is a dog, most humans would say “It’s just a dog” or “Animals are animals, they have no priority”. It is true that innocent civilians should be prioritized in warfare, but the one difference is that humans have rights, animals have no rights. Khofo is a casualty of the war, not only is Khofo impacted by the war but is also tortured since the dog has no values, why respect the dog. War is misery, it is the human act of making an impact dictated by greed and violence. What makes an animal deserve to be impacted, foremost tortured, what did they do to deserve this treatment?

United Nations was established on 24 October 1945 after World War II, to prevent another such conflict. At its founding, the UN had 51 member states; there are now 193. This covers all independent countries on planet earth. The organization is financed by assessed and voluntary contributions from its member states. Its objectives include maintaining international peace and security, promoting human rights, fostering social and economic development, protecting the environment, and providing humanitarian aid in cases of famine, natural disaster, and armed conflict. Since all nations are members of United Nation, please ask yourself, what are they doing to cease the impact of human crisis in a war zone? Why does United Nation exist if countries can still wage war against each other? How does United Nations justify the approval of bombing to end a war?

Evil begets evil. Shooting will only make it stronger.

Most people will argue their case that saving humanity in the face of war is more prioritized than saving animals. This is a statement containing double standards. Instead of continuously struggling with saving the innocent bystanders, who is placing responsibility with United Nations? Why is not humanity acting to prevent wars, why is United Nations continuously failing? The goals of United Nations are quite clear, perhaps someone can explain what happened in the 20th and 21st century?

  • Syrian Civil War, fatalities 130,000 and counting.
  • Afghanistan War, fatalities 73,000.
  • Sudan Government vs Militias, fatalities 97,000.
  • Somalia Civil War, fatalities 52,000.
  • Uganda Civil War, fatalities 128,000.
  • Mozambique Govt vs RENAMO and FRELIMO, fatalities 116,000.
  • Sri Lankan Govt vs Tamil Militants, fatalities 74,000.
  • First and Second Congo Wars, fatalities 81,000.
  • Angolan Govt. vs UNITA Guerilla, fatalities 115,000.
  • Afghanistan Civil War, fatalities 547,000.
  • Rwanda Civil War (Hutus vs Tutsis), fatalities 508,000.
  • Iran vs Iraq, fatalities 645,000.
  • Chinese Cultural Revolution, fatalities 2,050,000.
  • Vietnam War, fatalities 2,048,000.

The list goes on and on and on. We can cry about human rights all our lives but the facts are there, the truth can be told, we cannot stand united to prevent warfare as the one solution to resolve a conflict. Where to animal rights play a factor in humanities lust to conduct warfare? As far as I know there are no animal rights since animals have no value and cannot speak up for themselves. This video so gracefully shared by the organization SARA - Syrian Association for Rescuing Animals, shows the face of war from an animal’s perspective, something the news will not cover since it justifies no rise in viewers.
