What is a Vegan?

Many people misunderstand the concept and try to complicate it, making up their own rules and then assaulting others for not applying themselves. To just be a vegetarian is a massive step and I don't see why a Vegan would even consider them any less important in the path of saving animals.

The confusion many have is in regards to pets or domesticated animals and their value to humans. In addition, there are reflections from the animal kingdom that can start a major dispute even though it has nothing to do with being a vegetarian or a vegan.

A vegetarian is the choice of not eating a dead animal as in animals involved in the never-ending meat industry. In time, there has been a development within vegetarian, why I do not understand since the goal of applying themselves to this way of life is to save animals from being born to a price tag and endure tremendous suffering to end up on someone's plate.

A vegan is the choice of to completely remove any type of animal products. This means that a true vegan will not consume meat-, fish-, bird-, dairy-, egg-, honey- or wax products, in addition any additives that contain an animal origin. A vegan will also refrain from leather garments, fur products, woolen cloths, and down pillows. Products developed from utilizing animal testing are also included. There are also vegans that totally refrain from service that includes animals such as zoos, circuses, rodeos, and bull fights.

My family have refrained from leather, fur, wool and down some time ago. In 2016 we started with meat as in cattle, pig, and sheep. After this we removed chicken. Then we decided to remove as much dairy as possible. We needed to find replacements in the store and we have succeeded with 95% of all dairy products, the tough replacement is cheese. As of 2015 we completely take refuge from any service that involve animals and sign petitions as they are presented to the public. As of 2017 we support pets that need adoption instead of being executed since they deserve a second chance. No pet or we should call it domestic animal, is brought to this world without the help of a human, there is always a human involved. What we have left to remove from our diet are eggs where we are thinking of building a hen house and rescuing chickens. If they lay eggs than they need to be eaten instead of growing population but the hens/roosters need to complete their lifecycle and die naturally. We have decided by 2018 that we will also remove fish and seafood from our diet.

Honey is a touchy subject since bees are needed for a successful pollination. Wild bees are not extremely common and without humans helping bees then there will be a rapid reduction of pollination. 1/3 of the food we eat depend on pollination which means bees will provide humanity with honey but also contribute to our own survival. To fill one jar of honey it requires 5 million flower visits.

To me the below table seems just as an excuse to consume something because you lack the strength or will to totally give up on meat- or/and dairy products. In the end of the cycle, there is an animal that has suffered. If you feel it in your heart that it burns for animals, their rights are more important than anything and their suffering needs to end, then take it one step at a time to become a breathing and happy vegan.
